LAUNCH OF OPERATION CLEAN YOUR FRONTAGE IN KROWOR MUNICIPALITY
As part of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s (President of the Republic of Ghana) vision to make the nation’s capital Accra, one of the cleanest cities in Africa, the various Municipal Assemblies in Accra launched the “Operation Clean Your Frontage” sanitation awareness and program.
The Krowor Municipal Assembly (KroMA) was not left out of this sensitization activity. Led by its Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey canvassed some principal streets of the municipality to launch the Municipal Assembly’s version of the Operation Clean Your Frontage. This sensitization activity was undertaken on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
The Operation Clean Your Frontage program is spearheaded by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Henry Quartey who is determined to ensure that this program becomes a success. The Hon. Minister has subsequently directed all MMDCE’s within his jurisdiction to ensure that citizens are abreast with Assembly by-laws and adhere to strict sanitation conditions to make Accra clean.
Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey led Chiefs and People of Nungua including Clan Houses, the Police, the Fire Service, the Ambulance Service, the Clergy, the Muslim Community, Hon. Assembly Members and Unit Community Members, Management and Staff of the Assembly and other recognized groups.
The sensitization float began from the Coca Cola Roundabout though Ecobank Branch all at Spintex, Nnshornaa Beach Drive and ended at the Nungua Main Lorry Terminal.
In a speech delivered to bring the launch to an end, Hon. Joshua Bortey addressed the gathering by urging His constituents to ensure their surroundings are always clean and tidy to promote the enviable title as one of the cleanest Municipalities in Accra.
