Mission

To lead the efficient production and management of quality official statistics based on international standards, using competent staff for evidence-based decision making in support of development of the Krowor Municipality.

Vision

 To be a trusted provider of statistical services for good governance, accountability and transparency – Facilitate correct interpretation of the data, the statistical agencies are to present as information according to sufficient standards on the sources, methods and procedures of statistics.

The objectives of the Statistics Department are to:

Collect, compile, analyse, publish and disseminate demographic, health and economic data on the Municipality.

 Undertake monthly market readings on selected goods and services from designated market centres in the Municipality and submit returns to the respective Regional Office of the Ghana Statistical Service for the computation of the following:

  • Consumer Price Index (CPI)
  • Producer Price Index (PPI) and
  • Production Index (PI)
  • Enhance the use of statistics for evidence-based decision making
  • Harmonize the concepts, methods, and classifications used in production of statistics at all levels
  • Systematize the collation of administrative data across sectors and geographical units
  • Reinforce the coordination of statistics generation, compilation, analysis, storage, archiving and dissemination
  • Engender statistical literacy among stakeholders
  • Maximize revenue generation and utilization
