ROAD PROJECT

The Coastal Development Authority (CODA) is undertaking resurfacing of the FIFA housing road in the Krowor Municipality. The project which is being funded entirely by the Authority is expected to be completed within 2 weeks.

HANDING OVER OF RENOVATED NUNGUA PRESBY PRIMARY ‘B’ SCHOOL

The Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey on Thursday 17th August, 2023 commissioned and handed over the renovated 6-unit KroMA Presbyterian ‘B’ Classroom block to officials of the Municipal Education Directorate.

In attendance to grace the august ceremony were Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of Departments and Hon. Assembly Members in the Municipality. The Opening prayer was said by one of the teachers in the school which was followed by a choreography performance by a section of the students.The renovated 6-unit classroom block has a staff common room and a headmistress office. It also has changed windows with electricity connection. There were provision of desks, tables and ceiling fans to aid teaching. The project was funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund. The cost of the renovation was GH¢548,000.

In his speech, Hon Joshua Nii Bortey welcomed the gathering. He informed the invited guest that the KroMA has inaugurated 3 projects this year of which all dilapidated school buildings in the municipality will be renovated including buildings at St. Peters.

Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey assured the gathering that an AstroTurf will be constructed in Nungua which will have lawn tennis, tracks and field. He commended the Assembly Man for the electoral area, Hon. Lawrence Nii Bortey for his support.

 

EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS in krowor municipality

The Krowor Municipal Assembly has undertaken a lot of educational projects within the Municipality. These include but not limited to the Construction of a 2 Storey 6 unit classroom block with ancilliary facilities at the Nungua Cluster of School. Others are the construction of 2 storey 6 unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at the Nungua Zongo, the construction of 1 storey 3 unit classroom block at Nungua at Nii Larweh and the rehabilitation of the Nungua Presby JHS School block also located at the Nungua Cluster of Schools. 

The projects are being funded by the Municipal IGF (Internally Generated Fund) and DACF

COMMISSIONING OF KROMA 5 & 6 BASIC SCHOOL BY HON. JOSHUA NII BORTEY (MCE FOR KROWOR)

The Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey on Friday 21st August, 2023 commissioned and handed over the first phase of 18-unit 3-storey classroom block and its ancillary works at Nungua KroMA 5 and 6 Basic School to officials of the Municipal Education Directorate.

In attendance to grace the august ceremony were the President of Nungua Traditional Area and Vice President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Oboade Notse King Prof. Odaifio Welentsi III and the Shitse and Overlord of the Ga-Adangbe State, Wor-Konor Nuumo Borketey Larweh Tsuru XXXIII Gborbu Wulomo, Municipal Coordinating Director of KroMA, Mr. S.K. Addo, Heads of Departments and Hon. Assembly Members in the Municipality and other dignitaries present. The Opening prayer was said by one of the teachers in the school.

The 18-unit 3-storey classroom building has a staff common room, a head teacher’s office, sick bay, library and kitchen for the teachers and students. The cost of the entire building is GH¢803,000. The construction of the other phases of the building will be completed in third quarter in 2024.

 

In his address, Hon Joshua Nii Bortey welcomed the gathering. He expressed his joy in commissioning of the 1st phase of the 18-unit 3-storey classroom block as that day happened to be his birthday. He revealed that the building was started and ended in Ex-President John Kufuor’s period of administration as president of Ghana. After being abandoned for many years, the classroom unit has seen a facelift through its rehabilitation of its first phase.

Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey highlighted some challenges faced by the Basic School. They include security, streetlights, chairs, tables, desks and etc. He stressed that the Central Government over the years, have tried to improve security and logistics for teachers to teach and students to learn in comfort.

The MCE for Krowor ended his speech by appreciating the works of the Nungua Traditional Authority; the King and Gborbu Wulomo for being highly supporting the Assembly as well as the teachers and staff of the Ghana Education Service, Nungua.

The Krowor Municipal Assembly has undertaken the construction of a Mother and Child Care Unit at the Krowor Polyclinic. This Care Unit was funded by the District Assembly Common Fund and the MPs share of the Common Fund. This project is expected to primarily take care of the needs of mothers and children within the Municipality.

Other health project undertaken is the construction of health facility at Nungua Zongo. This project was also funded under the GOG/UNICEF WASH Program

Development on going at Faayor in Krowor Municipality
