MCE FOR KROWOR, HON JOSHUA NII BORTEY AND HIS TEAM OF ENGINEERS VISITS THE 9.8 KILOMETERS NUNGUA OKPOI GOONO HIGHWAY ROAD CONSTRUCTION SITE

Ebo Whyte students Drama Competition under auspices of the National Commission on Culture in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service, Greater Accra Region organized drama competition for second cycle schools in the region.

The completion aimed to foster a deep appreciation for literature and drama among students by engaging students in dramatic performances, the event sought to develop their communication skills, teamwork, and understanding of literary works.

The competition was divided into five zones, with schools in each zone performing adaptations of selected novels. In zone two, schools performed the novel the son of umbele written by Uncle Ebo Whyte a compelling story that competed in the zone were Nungua Senior High, Osu Presby SHS, Tema SHS, Teshie Presby SHS.

The event took place on the 25 and 26 July 2024 at the Amphitheatre of Arts and Culture. Nungua Senior High competing in Zone two delivered an outstanding performance that earned them second place in their category. Their portrayal of the “Son of Umbele” captivated the audience and judges alike, securing them two special awards:

BEST ACTRESS

A standout performance by a member of the Nungua Senior High drama team earned the school the award for Best Actress. Her portrayal added depth and emotion to the narrative, contributing significantly to the overall success of their performances.

BEST STAGE (DESIGN) PROPS

Nungua Senior High was recognized for their exceptional stage design and props which vividly brought out the setting of typical coastal community. The stage design and props were not only visually appealing but also authentic to the cultural context of the story.

Nungua Senior High School’s Achievements in the competition are a testament to their hard work and dedication and have set a high standard for the future participants
