The Agriculture Department as part of its activities carried out stakeholders’ sensitization and public education on Anthrax disease Municipal wide. The objective was to equip farmers and other stakeholders along the livestock value chain with relevant information on the zoonotic disease, its prevention from entering the Municipality. Pest Des Petits Ruminants (PPR) vaccination was also carried out in the Municipality. In total, 965 livestock was vaccinated. Therapeutic and prophylactic treatment, castration, deworming were performed on 3,023 macro and micro livestock. Some 226 dogs and cat were vaccinated against rabies during the year. The sensitization was carried out in September and ended in Oct0ber, 2023.
