2024-2027 REGIONAL BUDGET HEARINGS

 In accordance with Regulation 17(3) of the PFM Regulations 2019, L.I 2378. MMDAs are to hold Budget hearings to review the Revenue and Expenditure performance and targets set for incoming fiscal years. The aim is to afford the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), the National Technical Team the opportunity to scrutinize and guide the MMDAs to ensure that allocations reflects the objectives and strategies of governmental policies, programmes and are in line with the 2024–2027 Budget Guidelines as set by the Ministry of Finance.

The 2024-2027 Regional Budget Hearings was hosted by the Krowor Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly and Tema West Municipal Assembly. This budget hearing took place at Best Western Plus Hotel on the 11th October, 2023.

The three Municipal Chief Executives took turns to present their 2024-2027 composite budget of their respective Assemblies. The Krowor Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey presentation was centred on the Strategic Overview of the Assembly and highlighted some of the key development issues and challenges being faced by the Assembly.. He also touched on the successes the Assembly has achieved over the past years such as Completion of Phase I of the 3-storey 18-unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facilities (Phase 1 Ground floor), Rehabilitated and renovated Nungua Presby Primary B. Basic School Block, 80% Completion of the Construction of 2-storey 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Nungua Zongo near Ansara Suma Mosque among others.

The Municipal Budget Analyst, Mr. Dickson Duut also presented on the financial performance of the Assembly. His presentation was on revenue and expenditure performance in 2023 and gave the outlook for 2024 fiscal year.
