REPORT ON TREE CUTTING AT NUNGUA KANTAMANTO
The Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey together with the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Jemima Kallikrates Apedo donated cash and other items to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Krowor Municipality, Nungua. This special occasion occurred on the Forecourt of the Krowor Municipal Assembly on Thursday, 21st December, 2023 at exactly 10:00am.
Dignitaries at the august occasion were the Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey, Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Jemima Kallikrates Apedo, Municipal Head of Social Welfare and Community Development, Madam Evelyn Nanbigne and so on.
In Her opening remarks, Madam Evelyn Nanbigne welcomed everyone to the gathering. She informed the gathering on the process the Persons with Disabilities go through before they are selected to receive these donations from the Krowor Municipal Assembly.
In His brief statement, The Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey also welcomed all the invited guest to the august occasion. He wished everyone a happy yuletide. He informed the gathering that there is a committee setup in place to determine what is disbursed to every Persons with Disability every quarter of every year. Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey added that an amount of 56,000 Ghana Cedis has been approved to be disbursed to beneficiaries for this year.
The Hon. MCE said that in addition to disbursing items and cash, the Central Government through the Municipal Assembly is constructing roads, building schools and other social amenities and so on. He ended his speech by saying that the Krowor Municipal Assembly will not relinquish on its efforts to improve the standards of living of the people in the municipality.
Items disbursed were deep freezer, steel container and Polytank. In all, 16 Persons with Disabilities beneficiated from this exercise.
