HON. JOSHUA NII BORTEY (MCE) DISBURSES ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (PWDs)

Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the Krowor Municipality were greatly honoured when the Municipal Chief Executive and the Social Welfare and Community Development Department of the Krowor Municipal Assembly disbursed items and cash to them. This activity occurred at the Nungua Old Bus Stop on Wednesday, 21^st December, 2022 at exactly 10:00am.

Dignitaries at the august occasion were the Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey, Municipal Head of Social Welfare and Community Development, Madam Evelyn Nanbigne, Chairman of the Social Welfare Community, Hon. Labaran Osman, Staff of the Assembly and so on.

In Her opening remarks, Madam Evelyn Nanbigne welcomed everyone to the gathering. She gave the purpose of the gathering and informed everyone how the Persons With Disabilities were taken through processes such as vetting before they receive the items and cash from the Krowor Municipal Assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey was next to give his brief statement. He began by welcoming all the invited guest to the august event. He mentioned that since he assumed office as the MCE, he has being disbursing items and cash to PWDs every year. He said for the first time, KroMA decided to hold this event in the midst of the community for them to appreciate the role and activities the Assembly does in the communities.

The Hon. MCE added that in addition to disbursing items and cash, the Central Government through the Municipal Assembly is constructing roads, building schools and other social amenities and so on. He ended his speech by saying that the Krowor Municipal Assembly will not relinquish on its efforts to improve the standards of living of the people in the municipality.

Items disbursed were industrial sewing machines, knitting machine, oven, laptops and container. 31 PWDs beneficiated in this exercise.
