The Krowor Municipal Assembly on Friday, 6th March, 2026, joined the rest of the nation to commemorate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day Anniversary at a colourful ceremony held at the Nungua Town Park.
The celebration, held under the national theme “Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,” brought together traditional authorities, assembly members, heads of departments, security agencies, teachers, school children, and residents of the municipality to reflect on Ghana’s journey of freedom and development.
Delivering the keynote address, the Municipal Chief Executive highlighted key development strides within the municipality and called on residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and accelerating local development.
The MCE touched on the Assembly’s renewed focus on sanitation and environmental cleanliness, urging residents to play their part in maintaining a clean and healthy municipality. He also highlighted progress on key infrastructure projects by the Member of Parliament and the Assembly, in the health and education sectors, aimed at improving access to quality services for residents.
He further outlined ongoing business empowerment and skills training initiatives designed to equip the youth with employable skills and support entrepreneurship. Among the programmes highlighted were the Nkoko Nkitinkiti Household and Backyard Poultry Initiative, skills development opportunities for young people, and the MP’s business support interventions that continue to assist small businesses within the municipality.
The MCE also touched on plans aligned with the government’s 24-Hour Economy policy, including the development of a modern model market that will enhance trading activities, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the municipality.
The Krowor Municipal Assembly extends its appreciation to all participating schools, security agencies, traditional authorities, teachers and residents whose presence contributed to a successful celebration.
