In line with Section 86(1) of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921), the Krowor Municipal Assembly has inaugurated its Audit Committee on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025.
The membership of the Committee, as provided for under Section 87 of Act 921, comprises:
Two (2) representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) One (1) representative from the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) Two (2) representatives from the Krowor Municipal AssemblyThe inauguration was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), representatives from Internal Audit, Finance, Budget, and the Assembly Secretariat.
The Audit Committee is mandated to ensure that the Assembly’s management pursues the implementation of recommendations contained in:
Internal Audit Reports
Parliament’s decisions on the Auditor-General’s Report
Auditor-General’s Management Letters
Annual Statements showing progress on the implementation of these recommendationsThis is in strict compliance with the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921) and its Regulations, aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance in the management of public resources.
