Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey MCE for Krowor on April 2, 2024 led a team of Engineers from KroMA, Officers from Nadmo as well as Officers from the Municipal Environmental Health Department to abate and give final warning to illegal squatters along the Blekese and Mukwe lagoons.
He stressed that the assembly as a human institution have had dialogues with them and given them ample time to relocate. He however cautioned that any recalcitrant squatter who fails to relocate after the deadline will face vigorous demolition of their structures. He explained that the demolition will not only preserve the Blekese lagoon but will halt the illegal dumping of refuse and unwanted materials into the lagoon which not only ends up chocking the Nungua Regional Maritime University Bridge but finally ends up polluting the Atlantic Ocean.
He further admonished all to be conscious of the environment and as such destroying our water bodies must be a thing of the past.
