Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey, MCE for Krowor has presented 14 bundles of wire mesh to 14 members of the National Fish Processors and Traders Association (NAFPTA), Krowor Branch to prevent fish post- harvest losses in the Krowor Municipality.
Making the presentation, the MCE commended the Association for their commitment and good work done in Krowor. He said it is Government’s aim to help Fish processors reduce post-harvest losses to the barest minimum and as such after harvesting fishes’ good measures must be taken to effectively handle, process, distribute and market the fishes efficiently to avoid post-harvest loses.
He however tasked the Krowor NAFPTA group to cultivate the spirit of maintenance so the wire mesh would last longer and further assured them that government has got their interest at heart and that government’s aim is to avoid unwanted catches, which is consequential to marine resources and substantial waste of resources is avoided.
