The Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey on Friday 9th February 2024 commissioned and handed over the 18-unit 3-storey classroom block and an 800-bed facility for students and teachers of Nungua Senior High School.
In attendance to grace the august ceremony were the Municipal Coordinating Director of the Krowor Municipal Assembly, Madam Jemima Apedo Kallikrates, Heads of Departments, Hon. Assembly Members and Head Teacher of Nungua Senior High School, Mrs Regina Naa-Kai Tetteh as well as other dignitaries present.
The 18-unit 3-storey classroom building has a staff common room, 2 teacher’s apartments, and 14-unit cubicle bathroom with an ironing space. This facility was constructed to ease congestion of amenities in the school.
In his address, Hon Joshua Nii Bortey welcomed the gathering. He expressed his joy in the commissioning of the 18-unit 3-storey classroom. He stated that, the Get Funded project formed part of efforts to address the challenges confronting the educational sector within the Municipality and reiterated Government’s commitment to ensuring that the Free Senior High School policy continues to be a success. He encouraged all present to support governments vision to educate every child of school going age.
Hon. Joshua Nii Bortey revealed that the project would provide a more convenient place of abode and learning for students since the current facilities are not able to meet the needs of the students and teachers.
He expressed keen interest in the regular maintenance of the newly built facilities and tasked the school authorities, teachers and students to take good care of the building facility.
The MCE for Krowor ended his speech by appreciating the works of the teachers in the school as well as the Ghana Education Service, Nungua.
