Hon Joshua Nii Bortey, Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor led a team from the Municipal Environmental Health Department and Zoomlion Sanitation Officers to collect rubbish from desilted drains from Nungua Obenetsoshishi through Nii Bortey to the Nungua Old Town Bus Stop in its quest to improve sanitation within the Krowor Municipality.
The MCE disclosed that, most often after desilting and removal of solid waste from the road drains, they are left unattended to thus making the work of the sanitation team difficult. He assured that henceforth his outfit will make sure that all waste left along the road will be duly collected.
Hon Joshua warned Hawkers to desist from selling at the peripherals of the road. He also advised the public who purchase from these traders to shun the act as it contributes to the congestion on the road and the pollution of the drains with residues. He further cautioned that drivers who park their vehicles at the peripherals of the road should desist from the act to avoid them from being fined or better still avoid their vehicles from being towed.
