In accordance with Section 81 of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), which mandates effective collaboration between decentralized departments, non-decentralized public institutions, state-owned enterprises, and public corporations operating within a municipal jurisdiction, the Krowor Municipal Assembly successfully convened an intersectoral meeting on Thursday, 7th August 2025. The meeting was chaired by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ing. Paul Afotey Quaye, and served as a strategic platform for enhancing institutional coordination within the Municipality.
The session formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to fostering a harmonized approach to planning, implementing, and monitoring programmes and projects across sectors. The overarching objectives of the meeting were to deepen institutional collaboration, eliminate duplication of efforts, share sectoral updates, and ensure alignment of stakeholders toward a unified vision for sustainable local development.
The meeting brought together heads of departments and representatives from a broad range of agencies, including the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Electoral Commission (EC), among others. Each representative provided updates on their institution’s current activities, operational challenges, and planned interventions within the Municipality. These presentations facilitated informed discussions and the identification of potential areas for joint action.
Deliberations underscored the need for stronger information-sharing mechanisms to avoid overlaps in service delivery, as well as the importance of synchronizing timelines for infrastructural and community development projects. Participants also highlighted the value of regular intersectoral meetings to track progress, address emerging issues, and ensure that development initiatives remain citizen centred.
The Municipal Chief Executive, in his closing remarks, commended all stakeholders for their active participation and constructive inputs. He reiterated the Assembly’s readiness to provide the necessary coordination and support to enhance institutional efficiency and improve service delivery to the people of Krowor.
The Krowor Municipal Assembly expresses its profound appreciation to all agencies and departments represented at the meeting. The collaborative spirit demonstrated during the session remains a vital driver in achieving an inclusive, transparent, and results-oriented development agenda for the Municipality.
