INAUGURATION OF KROWOR NORTH AND SOUTH ZONAL COUNCILS

The Krowor Municipal Assembly on 17th July 2025 inaugurated the Krowor North and South Zonal Councils at a brief but significant ceremony held at the GNAT Hall, Krowor. The event marked a key milestone in advancing grassroots governance and decentralization within the municipality.

The inauguration was attended by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ing. Paul Afotey Quaye, the Presiding Member, Hon. Robert Oko Odiko, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Jemima Apedo Kallikrates, Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, and selected staff of the Assembly.

In his keynote address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ing. Paul Afotey Quaye, noted that the gathering represented a new beginning of the Assembly’s mandate to work earnestly for the development and progress of Krowor. He called on the newly sworn-in zonal council executives to work in unity and collaborate closely with the Assembly, particularly around revenue mobilization. He emphasized that the councils play a pivotal role in the realization of the Assembly’s development agenda. Hon. Quaye further encouraged all members and stakeholders to embrace a spirit of togetherness and promote participatory governance throughout their respective communities.

As part of the inauguration, two individuals were duly elected to serve as Chairpersons of the newly formed zonal councils: Hon. Victor Otchwemah Adjetey was elected Chairperson of the Krowor South Zonal Council, and Hon. Alhassan Mohamadu Cabila was elected Chairperson of the Krowor North Zonal Council.

The formation and inauguration of these councils are in line with the Assembly’s efforts to deepen decentralization and improve citizen engagement in local governance processes. The Assembly congratulates the newly elected chairpersons and all members of the Krowor North and South Zonal Councils and looks forward to effective collaboration in the pursuit of sustainable development in the municipality.
