

As part of the Centre for National Culture, KroMA mandate and initiative to enhance Culture and promote Local Economic Development (LED) in the Krowor Municipality, the Centre for National Culture in collaboration with Planning and Statistics, Centre for National Culture (Ayawaso Central) and the Business Advisory Centre organized skills training program for 50 youths in the Krowor community. The training was designed to span a period of 2 days as a means for the fisher folks to acquire extra skills to support their fish processing business during the dry season the sea is closed.
The 2 days span program took place on Thursday January 23, 2025 and ended successfully on Friday January 24, 2025. The venue for the training program was at Nshorna (Nungua Landing Beach), in the Nungua Township. The facilitators took time to educate trainees on the processes of liquid soap and bleach making where every step was carefully demonstrated to their understanding. Items being used for this training are; 1kg of base, 1kg of soda ash, 1/2kg of caustic soda, 1kg of salt, 1kg of chlorine, 1litter of booster liquid,1litter of thickener liquid, soda ash, perfume, big bowls, spatula, citric acid and color.
Madam Patience Balaji, an officer of the Business Advisory Centre also educated the trainees on new business ideas and its registration. This is to equip them with the requisite knowledge to venture into new businesses aside their fishing trade and also make it legitimate by registering it. They were also taken through proper records keeping in order to track their expenses, sales and profits and also general business management to enable them build a good relationship with their clients.
The trainees were generally excited upon receiving this new skill to improve their livelihood while contributing to the economic well-being of the Krowor Municipality and the Nation at large.
