On Wednesday, 12th October, 2020, the Centre for National Culture, KroMA was able to enrol about sixty-two (62) community members for the program.
Spearheaded by the Municipal Cultural Officer, the 1st Local Economic Development bead making training was launched at the said venue above. Items to be used for the program were displayed as trainees were welcomed and introduced.
Vida Fatima Nyarko, a trainee gave prayer for the commencement of the program. Mrs Elizabeth Ampaw Daletsa (Director, KroMA) welcomed the trainees with a word of encouragement in the presence of Mrs. Salamatu Seidu (HR KroMA), Honourable Nii Afotey Botwe II (Presiding member, KroMA) and others.
Augustina Cudjoe, an officer from the Centre for National culture, Accra was the trainer for the successful program.
The end of the first week training recorded a deeper knowledge and understanding of trainees on designing necklace beads. They made use of the seed beads in designing these beautiful necklaces
The 2nd week enlightened the trainees more on designing of pen box, key holders and slippers. Sugar beads were used for the pen box and some of the key holders, whiles other key holders were designed with bag beads.
On the 3rd week, Trainees were trained to use sequence with seed beads and some pearls were used for designing the headbands.
Additionally, on the 4th week, Trainees sharpened their skills on how to bead on dresses, purse beading and head bands. Trainees were trained to use crystals with seed beads /sequence with seed beads for beading dresses. The beautiful purse designs also made use of the bag beads whiles sequence with seed beads and some pearls were used floor designing the headband.
Finally, as the training came to a successful end on the 5th week, Trainees learnt how to make the tissue box. Sugar beads were used for this process leading to beautiful tissue box
